Common questions

I forgot my username or password.

If your account has an email and lock-down mode is off, the sign-in screen offers Forgot username and Forgot password, sent through a server your phone has joined: an organization's, or your family's home server once its email is set up. If the home server is in lock-down, open the emailed link while on your home network. The parent password cannot be reset by email: the parent can change it on the phone. An account file's passphrase cannot be recovered by anyone.

I lost my phone.

Install the app on the new phone, choose I have an account file, and open your backup with its passphrase. The backup can be an account file you saved, a copy you sent to an organization, or the copy your phone sends to your family's home server: with Automatic backup on, a phone joined to a home server sends it a sealed copy when it joins and again every day. A parent can download it from the home server's page in a browser, and an organization you backed up to can hand you yours. Nobody can open a backup without its passphrase, so keep it written down.

Can the organization read my child's answers?

Only in the classes that organization gives your child — ones its staff enrolled them in or approved them for. It cannot see the other classes your child takes, whether with another organization, at home, or with another household: not the answers, not the marks, not even that those classes exist. A backup an organization keeps for you is sealed with your passphrase, so it cannot open it either.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Profile → Settings → Delete My Account, then your password. It deletes the account from your phone and asks every server your phone joined to forget it. A child's account is deleted by their parent, with the parent password. Delete your account has the details, including what organizations keep.
